About this resource

Migrant Education is a federal initiative that allocates funds to assist state and local educational agencies in eliminating obstacles faced by migrant students regarding school enrollment, attendance, and academic success. Offered services may include tutoring, personalized assistance during or after school, summer educational programs, complimentary 24-hour accident injury insurance, support for parental involvement, connections to community resources, and guidance for older youth in college and career transitions.

Who can use this

  • To qualify, applicants must be 21 or younger, eligible for free public education through grade 12 without having graduated or obtained a GED, have moved within the last 36 months due to economic necessity, and have engaged in qualifying agricultural or fishing work within 60 days of their move.
