About this resource

WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and shaping lifelong nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program includes nutrition education classes, breastfeeding support, monthly allowances for supplemental nutritious foods, and connections to community resources.

Who can use this

  • To qualify for WIC, applicants must fulfill four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not a prerequisite) -Be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, or an infant or child under the age of 5. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians may apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income that is below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Families enrolled in OHP, SNAP, or TANF automatically qualify based on income. -Have a nutritional risk, which will be evaluated during the appointment.
