About this resource
Options counselors aid individuals in making well-informed choices about long-term care by evaluating their strengths, needs, preferences, and specific circumstances. They offer details on support strategies, action plans, and methods based on available community options. Options Counseling can serve as an independent service for participants or lead to Older Americans Act Case Management (OAA), which supports those needing ongoing assistance to maintain independence. Care coordinators help with problem-solving, advocacy, and connecting participants to resources and community support to improve their quality of life and plan for the future.

Fees: No charges apply.
Who can use this
- Eligibility for Options Counseling includes individuals aged 60 and older, adults with disabilities, veterans, and their family members or caregivers, while OAA is available for those aged 60 and older.
