Community Action Washington County

Community Resource

Serves: Portland, Washington County

About this resource

This initiative provides weatherization services designed to assist households in decreasing their utility costs. It includes in-home consultations by an educator or auditor who shares energy-saving advice, efficient lighting options, and water-saving devices. Eligible households may also receive extensive weatherization services that start with an energy audit to identify which energy-efficient measures can be implemented. Qualified private contractors will then install the suggested cost-effective improvements, which might consist of ceiling, floor, or wall insulation; EPDM roofs (a robust synthetic rubber material); duct sealing; water heaters; heating systems; exhaust fans; or replacements for energy-efficient windows and refrigerators.

Intake Procedure: Interested individuals should call for a screening and application or download an application from the website. Initial wait times before the first visit can range from 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the heating source.

Travel/Location: Accessible via TriMet bus line 54.

Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
