About this resource
This program provides financial support to low-income families with children as they work towards becoming self-sufficient. The cash aid is designed to cover essential needs like food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Recipients of TANF may also have the opportunity to join the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which helps them earn a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.
Who can use this
- - Families with children under 18 or pregnant women in their 9th month of pregnancy, with the parent as head of household - Must reside in Oregon - Must have very low or no income and minimal resources (like property, vehicles, or bank accounts) - Applicants must be U.S. citizens or qualified non-citizens; parents without citizenship can apply for benefits on behalf of their U.S. citizen children.
