Migrant Education is a federal initiative that allocates funds to assist state and local educational agencies in eliminating barriers to the enrollment, attendance, and success of migrant students in schools. The program offers various services, including tutoring, personalized assistance during class or after school, summer school options, complimentary 24-hour accident injury insurance, support for parental involvement, connections to community resources, and guidance for older youth transitioning to college and careers.

Who can use this

  • To qualify, individuals must meet these criteria: -Aged 21 or younger -Eligible for free public education through grade 12 and have not yet graduated or received a GED -Relocated within the last 36 months due to economic necessity, changing residence and school districts, or to accompany a parent, guardian, or spouse who is a migratory agricultural worker or fisher -Engaged in new qualifying temporary or seasonal work in agriculture or fishing within 60 days of the move -Have worked in agricultural or fishing industries for less than 12 months.
