Newberg Area Habitat For Humanity
Community Resource
About this resource
Habitat for Humanity constructs homes utilizing volunteer labor and numerous donated materials. Families are required to contribute at least 500 hours of "sweat equity" by working alongside volunteers during the building process. Once the home is finished, it is sold to the family at a reasonable base price. The mortgage payments made by homeowners are reinvested into a Fund for Humanity, which is used to construct additional homes in the community.
Intake Process: Contact for details.
Fees: Varies by service; mortgage payments are limited to 30% of the homebuyers' gross monthly income, including closing costs, and are offered at a 0% interest rate.
