About this resource
This program provides essential financial support for verified needs. The types of aid available encompass auto payments and repairs, childcare, critical baby necessities, dental care, essential household items, food assistance, home repairs, medical expenses, relocation costs, rent and mortgage payments, travel, transportation, utilities, and vision care. Home repairs are available for all post-9/11 wounded service members, while deployed eligible service members may receive either repairs or replacements. The assistance limits are as follows: - Active duty members ranked E1-E6 can receive a total of 3 lifetime assists - Currently deployed service members on Title 10 orders receiving hazardous duty pay may receive up to 5 lifetime assists - Those with documented injuries, illnesses, or wounds from post-9/11 service may also receive 5 lifetime assists. The duration of assistance varies based on the type requested.
Intake Procedure: To apply online and verify assistance eligibility, visit the website. For questions regarding eligibility or the application process, call for support. - Application and initial processing occurs from the 1st to the 10th of each month - Evaluation and review take place from the 11th to the 20th - Notification and final processing are conducted from the 21st to the 30th of each month.
Fees: None.
Who can use this
- Applicants must meet one of three criteria related to military service and injury status, including being wounded post-9/11, currently deployed, or active duty with eligible dependents.
Documents you may need
- All applicants: Military ID, documentation of all household income (i.e., most recent military Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) or Retiree Account Statement (RAS), civilian pay, disability benefits, etc.) Deployed: Copy of deployment orders Wounded, ill, or injured: DD214 (if discharged), Line of Duty documentation or other official record of a wound, illness, or injury being sustained in the line of duty Applications without proper documentation will not be accepted.
