In addition to severe cold weather shelters, seasonal winter shelters may be available when the Homeless Service Department (HSD) issues a severe weather notice. The criteria for such notices in Multnomah County include: -Forecasted temperatures of 25°F or lower OR -Predictions of at least one inch of snow in most regions OR -Expected overnight temperatures of 32°F or less, combined with at least one inch of heavy rain OR -Other severe conditions such as extreme wind chills or significant temperature changes.
Intake Procedure: For information on year-round, winter, and severe weather shelters, as well as donation and volunteering opportunities, call or visit the website. You can also register on the website to receive email or text alerts when a cold or severe weather advisory is issued in Multnomah County.
Fees: There are no fees associated with these services.
