About this resource
VETERINARIAN MUST CONTACT: Assists low-income seniors in the Puget Sound area whose pets require urgent veterinary treatment, including surgeries and euthanasia.
Intake Process: The senior must first visit a veterinarian for an assessment and then ask the veterinarian to reach out to the Budkis Fund to seek financial assistance for the treatment. Both the client and the veterinarian will complete necessary forms, after which the case will be reviewed by a committee for funding consideration.
Costs: None.
Who can use this
- Seniors aged 65 and above. The senior and pet must reside together. The senior should live independently from children or grandchildren. The pet must require emergency care, which may include euthanasia, but excludes life support or long-term treatment. *Potential clients should be advised to submit an application; approval is not guaranteed.
