About this resource
This summer camp runs for a week and is designed for children whose lives have been affected by a parent's cancer, providing them with peer-based emotional support. Activities at the camp include games, arts and crafts, sports, water activities, and outdoor recreation, all facilitated by trained and screened college students.
Intake Procedure: To register, call or visit the website. Applications are available starting in January and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The website features a schedule of upcoming camp sessions, related events, links to the chapter's Facebook page, and contact information.
Fees: There are no fees associated with the camp.
Who can use this
- Children aged 6-18 who have experienced the loss of a parent to cancer, have a parent currently undergoing treatment, or have a parent who is a cancer survivor are eligible. Children may attend Camp Kesem multiple times, and those with disabilities or special needs are evaluated individually.
