About this resource

This initiative focuses on the recruitment, screening, training, and management of around 400 volunteers who participate in roles for the 24-Hour Crisis Line, Washington Recovery Help Line, Washington Warm Line, and Teen Link. Interested individuals must complete a volunteer interest form and attend an Orientation & Screening evening or an Information Session, along with any other necessary screening processes for their specific volunteer roles. For further inquiries, individuals can reach out via phone or email. While a donation to help cover volunteer training costs is appreciated, it is not mandatory.

Who can use this

For the 24-Hour Crisis Line and WA Warm Line, applicants must be 21 or older, commit to a year of service with a regular weekly shift, one holiday shift, one on-call shift monthly, and complete four continuing education credits annually. For WA Teen Link, individuals aged 13-20 can apply for outreach and phone worker roles with a commitment of 5-10 hours per month for six months, while those 21 and older can apply for supervisor positions requiring 3-4 four-hour shifts monthly for a year.
