About this resource

This initiative provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants and refugees, pregnant women, and those who are aged, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.

To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to get an application. Once a paper or online application is submitted, DSHS will send a letter detailing the interview process. Clients in need of urgent financial help should reach out to their case manager. Additionally, the phone service includes a callback feature (virtual hold) allowing callers to enter their number and receive a return call when it’s their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; the first contact will be a navigator who assesses the situation to determine if they can assist or if another specialist is needed.

There are no fees associated with this service.
