Community Resource
About this resource
This program provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Application Process: To apply, you can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to obtain an application. Once DSHS receives your online or paper application, they will send a letter outlining the interview requirements. Clients of DSHS needing urgent financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line features a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to enter their phone number and receive a return call when it is their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; initially, a navigator will assess the call to decide if they can assist or if another qualified person is better suited for the caller's needs.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
