About this resource

This federal initiative aims to decrease the monthly expenses associated with phone and internet services. Those who qualify can receive up to $9.25 to help cover their bills. Lifeline can be utilized for either phone or internet services, but not for both simultaneously. This program is managed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and provides a Support Center that is open seven days a week to assist customers. The Lifeline Support Center can aid users in finding providers that offer Lifeline-supported services, checking the company they are currently using, and answering inquiries regarding the Lifeline program.

To apply, individuals can call the Support Center at 800-234-9473 or utilize the online tool to locate a Lifeline provider: https://data.usac.org/publicreports/CompaniesNearMe/Download/Report. After identifying a participating company, applicants have three options: 1) Reach out to a phone or internet provider that participates in the program, 2) Apply online at: https://nationalverifier.servicenowservices.com/lifeline, or 3) Send a completed application along with proof of eligibility to: Lifeline Support Center PO Box 7081 London, KY 40742. For further information, visit Lifeline's "How to Apply" page: https://www.lifelinesupport.org/how-to-get-lifeline/. If there are issues with an existing Lifeline service, the first step is to contact the service provider; if they cannot assist, reach out to the Lifeline Support Center at 800-234-9473.

There are no fees associated with this program.
