National Safe Haven Alliance

This service operates a crisis line guiding parents to safe locations where they can leave unharmed newborns up to three days old, such as hospital emergency rooms, staffed fire stations, or Federally Designated Rural Health Clinics.

Intake Procedure: Parents can call the crisis line, text SAFEHAVEN, or visit the website to locate the nearest drop-off site. When arriving with the newborn, parents should hand the baby to the staff and inform them that the infant is being left under the Safe Haven law. All information shared with the staff member will remain confidential.
