About this resource

This shelter offers a reservation-based, low-barrier facility for 90 women, equipped with bunk beds. If accessing a top bunk is difficult, reasonable accommodations may be arranged if possible. Guests can securely store a limited amount of personal items in a 3ft locker and have access to a kitchen, laundry facilities, and showers. Community food storage is restricted to one cloth grocery bag for the cupboard and one gallon-sized zip bag for the fridge per person. Non-perishable food items can be kept in personal lockers. During the day, guests can utilize the computer center and receive referrals for services through Human Solutions and community partners, including help with housing, employment, veterans' services, and mental health and addiction support. There is no time limit on stays, allowing guests to remain as long as necessary.

Intake Procedure: Intake is conducted via voicemail. Interested individuals must call and leave a message that includes: -Name -Callback number and whether it is safe to return the call (or if a text is preferable) -A brief message. Calls will be returned as soon as possible during business hours. Leaving a voicemail does not guarantee placement, as beds are allocated based on availability and eligibility criteria. The shelter does not accept walk-in referrals; please refrain from visiting the shelter in person for any reason.

Travel/Location: The nearest TriMet bus lines are 20, 25, 87, and the MAX blue line, stopping at E 162nd Avenue (Stop ID 8366).

Fees: There are no fees.

Who can use this

  • Adult women aged 18 and older, including pregnant individuals at any stage of pregnancy, are eligible, with no minors allowed. Access to top bunks requires the ability to climb; bottom bunks are reserved for those unable to access top bunks, and medical documentation may be required. One pet (cat or dog) is permitted with a kennel, and guests have 72 hours to provide their own kennel.

Documents you may need

  • If a guest is bringing a vehicle, the vehicle tags must be current and the vehicle must be operational. If accessing a bottom bunk, a doctor's note may be required proving a medical condition that prevents access to a top bunk.
