About this resource

Provides affordable, clean, and sober living accommodations for individuals in recovery; residence is voluntary and managed by peers; limited availability for single adults with children; couples are not permitted.

Intake Process: Check the website for available spaces and apply online. The locator can filter searches to display houses designated for men, women, or those accommodating children. Interested individuals can apply directly to their preferred Oxford House. If there are openings, an interview will be arranged. The interview involves all House members, and a majority vote (80%) is required to accept the applicant as a housemate. Individuals needing assistance in finding a house can contact one of the Oxford House outreach workers.

Costs: Members share household expenses, which typically range from $275 to $650 per person monthly.

Who can use this

While it is recommended that individuals have completed inpatient substance use disorder treatment, a 10-day detox program with intensive outpatient care, or have been clean and sober for 30 days, this is not mandatory. Applicants must agree to house rules and be able to contribute to household expenses. Previous convictions may be accepted, except for arson or sex offenses. All houses accommodate those in Medication Assisted Treatment and may accept women escaping domestic violence if they meet other eligibility criteria.
