About this resource

Flexible Services, commonly referred to as "flex funds," are supplementary non-covered services available alongside the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) benefits through Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) aimed at enhancing care delivery and promoting overall member health and wellness. The eligibility for these services is assessed by the CCO. Examples of services include: -Housing assistance (such as rent support, rental deposit aid with a move-in date, utility bill help, and housing programs for women and children) -Temporary motel accommodations (for individuals discharged from hospitals, facing severe weather, having a scheduled move-in date for a new residence, or fleeing domestic violence) -Electronics like cellphones and computers -Educational materials or classes -Family and home resources (e.g., child health and safety items, parenting programs, household appliances, climate control devices) -Gym memberships and fitness classes or equipment -Support for health and substance use prevention All flexible services are evaluated individually by the CCO. Note that these services are not meant for emergency situations, and CCOs are not obligated to provide them. Since flexible services are not covered benefits, denials cannot be appealed; however, OHP members can file complaints if needed.
