This initiative seeks to recruit and assess families who are interested in adopting children currently in the custody of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families.

Intake Procedure: Interested parties should call, and the intake line will accept collect calls.

Fees: There are no associated fees.

Who can use this

  • General adoption has no restrictions, while Special Needs Adoption is available for families with a child under 18 who is legally free, has special needs, and is in state-funded foster care or eligible for federal adoption assistance.
