This program recruits and evaluates families who wish to adopt children under the care of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
Intake Process: Interested individuals should call, and the intake line is available for collect calls.
Cost: There are no fees associated with this process.
Who can use this
- General adoption has no restrictions. For Special Needs Adoption, families must have a child under 18 who is legally free, has special needs, is in state-funded foster care, or qualifies for federal adoption assistance.
