About this resource
Climate Support is a health-related social need (HRSN) service provided by the Oregon Health Plan aimed at ensuring safety during climate events. The devices covered under this service are intended for use in the member's home or primary residence and may include: air conditioners, heaters, and air filters for maintaining healthy air quality and temperature; mini refrigerators for storing medications during power outages; and portable power supplies to keep medical devices like ventilators operational during outages. Members can access HRSN climate services only once in their lifetime.

Fees: There are no associated fees.
Who can use this
- Members of Yamhill Community Care must meet specific criteria, including having a qualifying living situation, a health condition that complicates climate events, access to electricity, and the ability to safely use the device. For air conditioners or air filters, they must not already possess one, have received medical assistance recently through OHA, ODHS, or Medicare, and be at risk for heat-related illness due to age, being a medically fragile child, or having a medical condition exacerbated by heat or smoke.
