About this resource
WellRide offers non-emergency medical transportation as a Medicaid-covered service. Rides can be arranged to and from various medical appointments, such as primary care, specialist consultations, physical therapy, dental visits, mental health services, and dialysis. The transportation options include bus fare, approved mileage reimbursement, wheelchair-accessible vans, taxi services, stretcher vehicles for those needing to lie down, and secure transport for individuals in mental health crises. Personal care attendants may accompany riders at no extra charge. These services are designed to assist when no alternative transportation is available.
Intake Procedure: Schedule your ride by calling at least 2 days prior to your medical appointment. Bus passes should be requested a week in advance. To cancel a ride, please call at least 60 minutes before the scheduled pick-up.
Fees: There are no associated costs.
