About this resource

Eligible seniors and disabled individuals can obtain a loan from the State of Oregon to assist with paying their property taxes to the county. Once approved, the Oregon Department of Revenue (DOR) will remit the property taxes to the county on November 15 annually. A lien is established on the property, and DOR holds a security interest.

Application Process: Applications are available at the County Assessor's office or can be downloaded from the website. Refer to the application for specifics on necessary documentation.

Fees: If a participant is disqualified or withdraws from the program, they must repay the property taxes covered by DOR, along with accrued interest (6% annually), the costs associated with recording and releasing the lien, and a $55 filing fee for manufactured structures.
