Oregon Judicial Branch
Community Resource
About this resource
This resource provides guidance on how to submit a petition to set aside or seal convictions, arrests, citations, charges, or findings of Guilty Except Insane (GEI). Eligible charges for setting aside include most violations, misdemeanors, Class C felonies, and some felonies that can be classified as misdemeanors. However, most Class A and Class B felony convictions are ineligible, and no traffic violations (like speeding) or traffic crimes (such as DUII) can be sealed. Additionally, violent felonies, most sex offenses, and child abuse-related offenses cannot be set aside, although some older serious drug convictions may qualify.
Intake Procedure: Check the website for local circuit court information.
Fees: The fee for requesting a record form from the State Police and for a fingerprint check is $63, while the court filing fee is $0, with potential fee assistance available.
