About this resource
Volunteers in the Senior Companionship program offer companionship and help with errands such as grocery shopping, visiting doctor appointments, and picking up prescriptions for seniors who are unable to leave their homes. In return for their support, companions are given a modest stipend.
Who can use this
- To qualify, volunteers must be at least 55 years old, have a monthly income below $2660 for individuals or $3606 for two-person households, and successfully complete a physical and criminal background check. They will also receive a tax-exempt stipend.
