About this resource
The Housing Choice Voucher Program, previously known as Section 8, is administered to offer monthly long-term rental assistance to qualifying households. The Housing Authority does not possess any housing units, so clients are responsible for finding their own approved accommodations.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be submitted online at: https://brag.utah.gov/depts/housing-authority
Who can use this
- Applicants must provide proof of residence and their household income cannot exceed 50% of the area's median income as defined by HUD. Rent contributions should be between 30% and 40% of the gross adjusted income, and the housing unit must be reasonably priced and pass an inspection. The current wait time for assistance is between 8 to 18 months.

- Proof of Address — Rental contract, utility bill, bank statement, driver’s license, or any other third-party document that shows proof of the applicant’s current residence.
