Head Start Association - Bear River

Bear River Head Start is a private non-profit entity that manages 13 Head Start programs across Idaho and Utah. This initiative is part of a national Preschool program designed for low-income children and their families. In Idaho, the Head Start centers are operated by various Grantee Programs, including local nonprofit organizations, American Indian Tribes, Community Action Partnerships, local colleges, school districts, and the Migrant and Seasonal Head Start. The services provided are complimentary, requiring verification of income, the child's birth date, and immunization records. The supportive services offered by Head Start include Social Services, Parent Involvement, Nutrition, Mental Health, Health, Education focusing on Language and Literacy, assistance for Disabilities, Dental care, Transportation, and Family support and counseling. Additionally, Head Start runs Early Head Start Programs for low-income families with children from prenatal stages up to 3 years old. Services are available in English and Spanish.
