About this resource
Behavior specialists assess and address the underlying causes of challenging behaviors in individuals who may have various developmental disabilities, histories of abuse and neglect, and mental health conditions. They collaborate with the individual, their family, and other support systems to create strategies aimed at preventing, reducing, or eliminating these behaviors. Additionally, specialists design and suggest interventions while teaching skills that promote success in both home and community settings. They provide practical training to families and teams to ensure that behavioral interventions are effective and supportive for both the individual and their family.
