About this resource
The Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) program provides utility support for individuals and families who are experiencing difficulties with heating or cooling bills. It specifically caters to low-income households by offering a one-time annual benefit that can be used towards utility providers to help alleviate the increasing costs of home energy.
Application Process: You can apply online at: https://serda.utah.gov/heat
Who can use this
- Households must have a total income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level, be responsible for their home energy expenses, include at least one adult (18 years or older or emancipated), and have at least one member who is a US citizen or legal permanent resident.
Documents you may need
- Copies of utility bills for the past 30 days (natural gas, power, or propane); Income Verification — Proof of income for all household members (last 30 days).; Social Security Card — Social security cards for all household members.; Photo ID — Valid photo IDs for all household members 18 and over.; Proof of medical expenses for the past 30 days (if applicable).; Income Verification — Income deficit form for each household member 18 and over who is unemployed.; Proof of disability (if applicable)
