About this resource
The Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) program is a federally funded initiative designed to help qualified individuals and families manage their elevated energy expenses (both electric and natural gas) during the winter and summer seasons. This program is available all year long.
Who can use this
- Residents with low income can receive assistance once per program year, provided their total household income is at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level, they are responsible for energy costs, and at least one member is a US citizen or legal permanent resident.
Documents you may need
- Income Verification — Proof of income for all household members 18 and over for the month before applying.; Copies of utility bills.; Photo ID — Photo ID for head of household
