About this resource
The program examines signs of emotional and verbal abuse, such as unexplained bruising, withdrawal, passivity, low self-esteem, and neglect, which may include dehydration, abandonment, malnourishment, and soiled clothing. It also addresses self-neglect, which can manifest as missed medical appointments, lack of necessary aids like glasses or hearing devices, and exploitation, including the loss of possessions, excessive charges for home repairs, poor living conditions, financial control, and insufficient funds for food and basic needs.
Who can use this
- Individuals must be at least 18 years old; vulnerable adults include those over 65 or those 18 and older with significant mental or physical disabilities impacting self-care.
