About this resource
This initiative provides loans to homeowners with very low incomes, enabling them to repair, enhance, or modernize their residences or eliminate health and safety risks. Additionally, it offers grants specifically for elderly homeowners with very low incomes to address such hazards. Both loans and grants can be utilized together.

Who can use this
- Eligible homeowners must occupy their residence, be unable to secure affordable credit from other sources, and meet the USDA's criteria for 'very low' income. For grant applicants, the age requirement is 62 years or older, and the home must be situated in a USDA-designated rural area.
