About this resource

The program provides vocational counseling and guidance tailored for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired. It includes the purchase or arrangement of pre-vocational training, personal adjustment training, remedial education, vocational training, and prosthetic devices such as artificial limbs, eyeglasses, and hearing aids. Additionally, it covers medical, surgical, psychiatric, hospital care, and related services, along with obtaining necessary tools, licenses, and equipment for employment or starting a small business. Support for maintenance and transportation during rehabilitation is also available, along with job placement services, follow-up after placement, job development, and training in job-seeking skills.

  • Applicants must have a documented disability that significantly hinders their ability to gain employment and require vocational rehabilitation services.
