About this resource
In Utah, birth parents have the option to anonymously relinquish custody of their newborns without incurring any legal penalties. Hospitals across the state are recognized as Safe Havens where these infants can be safely left. The Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) subsequently arranges for the child's prompt adoption.
Who can use this
- The newborn may be left at the hospital by the mother or an authorized individual.
