Additionally, with two major interstate highways and a railroad traversing the area, there is a risk of hazardous material spills. Emergency management performs thorough risk evaluations of these dangers and collaborates with public and private entities to enhance preparedness and response strategies. This includes the creation and practice of emergency response and communication plans, policies, and procedures, as well as offering practical CERT training.
