About this resource
Under Utah law, birth parents have the option to anonymously surrender custody of their newborn without incurring legal penalties. Designated hospitals in Utah, which operate 24 hours, serve as Safe Havens where newborns can be safely left. The Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) subsequently facilitates immediate adoption for the child.
Who can use this
- The newborn may be left at the hospital by the mother or someone authorized by her.
