About this resource
This program provides subsidized housing for low-income families and seniors. Applications are accepted only when the Section 8 waiting list is open, while the Public Housing waiting list for individuals aged 62 and older remains continuously open. Currently, as of March 2026, the Section 8 list is closed and is not expected to reopen for another 2-3 years. Additionally, a list of affordable or low-income rental options for Washington County is available at the office.
Who can use this
- Eligibility is determined by federal standards regarding income and family size, and applicants must pass a background check without a record of drug-related, violent, or sexual offenses.
