About this resource
The Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) program is a federally funded initiative designed to help qualified individuals and families manage elevated energy costs (for both electric and natural gas) throughout the winter and summer months. This program is available all year round.
Who can use this
- To qualify, at least one member of the household must be a U.S. citizen or a qualified alien, and the household income must not exceed 150% of the federal poverty level.
Documents you may need
- Copies of utility bills (with account number and service address); Income Verification — Proof of income for all household members for the month before applying.; Photo ID — Photo ID for head of household; For non-citizens: United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) documents; Social Security Card — To demonstrate citizenship
