Who can use this
- Head Start caters to children aged 3 to 5 years old. The program is designed for those who are not yet eligible for kindergarten and requires families to meet federal poverty guidelines based on income and household size. Additionally, families receiving SNAP, TANF, or SSI automatically qualify. Those facing high housing costs or other unique situations may also be eligible, even if their income slightly exceeds the guidelines. A small number of families above the income threshold may be accepted if they show significant need. Priority is given to children in foster care, those experiencing homelessness, and children with disabilities.
