About this resource
This service provides specialized door-to-door transportation for individuals whose disabilities restrict their ability to utilize the bus system. It operates on a pre-scheduled basis and adheres to specific eligibility criteria set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), requiring a formal application process.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be obtained from the transit office or downloaded as a PDF from bft.org. To receive a mailed application, individuals can call 509.735.5100. Eligibility determinations are made within 21 calendar days of receiving a completed application. If the application isn't processed within this timeframe, presumptive eligibility is granted on the 22nd day until a written denial is issued. Scheduling: Those deemed eligible can make reservations at least one day in advance, up to a week ahead. Reservations can be arranged via phone from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or online at any time, though reviews of reservations occur only on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Fees: For individuals residing within three-quarters of a mile from a bus route, the fees are structured as follows: $1.50 per trip, $3.00 for a round trip, $25 for a monthly pass, and $12 for a 10-ride ticket. For additional information, please call.
