Community Resource
About this resource
This program provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. It includes programs such as TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to get an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will send a letter detailing the interview process. Clients needing emergency financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone service features a callback option (virtual hold) that allows callers to enter their number and receive a return call when it's their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives, starting with a navigator who will assess the call to determine the best course of action or if another specialist is more suited to assist the caller.
There are no fees associated with this service.
