About this resource
The Basic Food Program offers food assistance to residents of Washington state, including those who are legal immigrants. The amount of benefits received each month is determined by the size of the household, as well as their income and living expenses.
To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Services Office (CSO) to get an application. Once an application is submitted, whether online or on paper, applicants will receive a letter outlining the requirements for an interview. It is necessary to provide a Social Security number for each person listed on the application. Applications must be submitted by December 19, 2024, to claim benefits for food lost due to the most recent disaster.
There are no fees associated with this program.
Who can use this
- Residents of Washington state must meet specific income, resource, and citizenship or alien status criteria, with income not exceeding 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
