About this resource
This program aids single adults who are either temporarily or permanently disabled and unable to work by supplying hygiene items and bus passes. Depending on funding, there may also be assistance for rent, utilities, and moving costs. A referral from DSHS is necessary.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be made in person at a local DSHS Community Services Office, online through washingtonconnection.org, or by contacting the DSHS Customer Service line. After assessing medical and financial eligibility, DSHS will refer applicants to the regional HEN provider.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
Who can use this
- Eligible individuals are low-income adults who cannot work for a minimum of 90 days due to a physical or mental disability and are not qualified for the Aged, Blind or Disabled cash assistance program, and must be homeless or at risk of homelessness, with eligibility assessed by DSHS.
