This initiative enhances school readiness for children from families living below the poverty line and dealing with multiple challenges.
Intake Procedure: Interested individuals should call to obtain an application; openings occur randomly. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
Who can use this
- Head Start caters to children aged 3 to 5 years. The program is available to families that meet federal poverty guidelines based on their income and household size. Additionally, families receiving SNAP, TANF, or SSI automatically qualify. Those with high housing costs or unique situations may still be eligible even if their income is slightly above the guidelines. A limited number of families exceeding the income threshold but showing significant need may also be served. Priority is given to children in foster care, those experiencing homelessness, and children with disabilities.
