About this resource
Franklin County provides marriage licenses and certified copies of Marriage Certificates. There is a mandatory three-day waiting period before the licenses become valid, and they must be utilized within 60 days of being issued.
Intake Procedure: You can either call or visit the office directly.
Fees: The cost for a marriage license is $159, payable by cash or money order/cashier’s check. If using a credit or debit card, a 2.7% convenience fee will be added to the transaction.
Who can use this
- To apply for a marriage license, applicants must complete an online application. Those without internet access can contact the office to use a marriage kiosk. After submitting the online form, applicants will receive a request number for reference. Licenses can be obtained by mail or through an in-person appointment. Both parties must be at least 18 years old, while 17-year-olds need parental consent, and individuals under 17 must reach out to the Benton-Franklin Counties Juvenile Justice Center for a waiver.
