Who can use this
- According to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Act, families or students are considered homeless and qualify for special rights if they are: * residing in a shelter, motel, vehicle, or campground * living on the street, in a 24-hour restaurant, or at a bus station * displaced by a natural or manmade disaster (like floods, earthquakes, or fires) * staying in a motel, abandoned structure, trailer, or other unsuitable housing * living with friends or relatives due to lack of affordable housing * 'couch surfing' * teenagers living independently.
