This initiative delivers financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to get an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will send a communication detailing the interview process. Clients requiring urgent financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone service includes a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to enter their number and receive a return call when it is their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives, starting with a navigator who will assess the call to determine the best assistance available.
