This service aids plaintiffs in obtaining financial compensation or other forms of damages, with the total not exceeding $10,000.
Intake Procedure: The court provides a claim form that must be signed in front of the court clerk. A set of relevant forms and guidance is accessible on the website. Small claims can be filed in any district court located in the county of the defendant's residence or, in the case of a traffic incident, in the county where the incident took place. The hearing will occur at the courthouse closest to where the defendant lives. Typically, cases are heard within 40 to 90 days from when they are filed.
Fees: There is a $50 fee for filing a claim.
