About this resource

Household hazardous wastes can be disposed of at four permanent collection sites, through the traveling Wastemobile, or via a home collection service for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Intake Procedure: You can drop off waste at any designated location. For the Home Collection Program, reach out to the Household Hazards Line, where you will need to provide your name, address, and phone number, along with the types and quantities of waste you wish to have collected. A collection date will be arranged, typically on Wednesdays between 9 am and 3 pm.

Fees: There are no charges.

Who can use this

Households face no restrictions, while businesses must generate less than 220 lbs. of hazardous waste monthly or less than 2.2 lbs. of acutely hazardous waste, and store under 2,200 lbs. of hazardous waste, with a limit of four visits per year. The Home Collection Program is available for King County residents aged 65 and older and those with disabilities, but does not cover certain special wastes like latex paint, tires, electronics, or medications.
